When installing a reed switch or PIR sensor the output of the wires is sometimes cause for concern. In my previous setup the jumper wires came out with power cables.
This eventually let to interference of the power with the PIR sensor and caused much ghosting.
I had read about people sticking the wires out the top but then realized that they all drilled a hole. Then I read somewhere that the plastics melts easily and that someone had simply melted the top to allow for the wires.
With that in mind I tried this idea and with my soldering iron after soldering some wires I decided to melt the case as in the picture.
It’s not a pretty job. But it worked flawlessly. No plastic bits to clean up. Just make sure the iron is well cleaned afterwards.
