This was supposed to be a straight swap.
I tried again to re flash my Kingston SSD and it was very slow.
When finished I put it back in the raspberry pi and the initial hassio boot up took much much too long.
Tried to reflash it with balenaEtcher and this time it failed.
Then tried diskpart and diskmanager. Both failed to fix.
Unplug and repair drive.
I could see the partition and tried to format. It stalled…
Out of desperation I got the Kingston SSD utility and performed a secure erase. This worked.
Health of the disk was back to normal.
I cannot imagine a non techie doing this.
1am rolls around.
Enough for today.
