Update for sonoffs and update path. From 5.12 the migration path seems to indicate 5.14->6.1.1. Tasmoadmin allows a 5.12->6.1.1 jump. All sorts of strange behaviour has ensued. After update the units would sporadically go offline. The AP wasn’t connectable. Button management on the sonoff was ineffective. All sorts of button presses attempted ie 4 quick times for an AP, 40 seconds straight to reset the … Continue reading Tasmota revert to 6.11 -> 5.12 after OTA failure
Recently although I’m not sure how I stumbled into it I started want a pressure washer. Previously I had noticed the dark almost black mildew or soot or something of the sort on the brick property divider (brick fence) and concrete flooring outside. With regular garden hose pressure I was able to remove some of the grime. Weeks later I splurged for a basic karcher … Continue reading Power washing the leaning house and area
BRUH got me into this. BRUH disappeared. Dr ZZs can in to fill the void. The hook up is assisting. BRUH left so I’m leaving too. Yeahnah. I love ya BRUH I can’t thank you enough for your push back into the electronics field. But the truth is the BRUH multisensors sometimes reset or freeze up. I would love to ask you about it alas … Continue reading BRUH to Tasmota conversion.
Picture of wires from blog In my old leaning house I have one live wire going to the light switch. nothing else is in the switch box. Now I thought that this would be because of the old leaning house that I’m in. However upon asking around it would seem as thought this is common in new constructions as well. This image goes to doesn’t … Continue reading Japanese wiring isn’t automation friendly.
Part 1 June 2018 I had called softwank last week to get clarification on a double charge of 33000¥ (300USD) on my credit card statement. Originally I had called the residential internet department as I suspected it was a double cancelation fee in error for breaking the contract. Internet department checked and it wasn’t on their side. They advised me to check the statement and … Continue reading Softwank (mobile) part 2
After 2 months suddenly it stopped registering humidity. The reading for a few days were very high. I chalked it off as the humidity factor as we enter the rainy season. But today was 45-50% humidity.Even the wash area sensor registered 60.Something was wrong. It seemed to be recovering a little but i no longer felt it was accurate. So I swapped it for the DHT22 in … Continue reading DHT22 AM2302
Once in a while the BRUH multisensors either reboot or drop off wifi, this was apparent with the graphs from HA but even more so with grafana. Grafana after a week. The drops are quite noticeable. This could perhaps be made to look better by increasing polling time or data intervals Sometimes in sync (wifi router?) other times randomly and individually I thought to myself. … Continue reading BRUH multi-sensors resetting?
Not long after making my BRUH multisensors I realized I had to modify one to have 2 PIR sensors. Editing the code I managed to do just that. PIR installed. Tested and works great. It’s a multisensor in middle of a corridor with 2 AM312s pointing in opposite directions. About a month later one of the PIRs started to have ghosting or signs of failure. … Continue reading AM312 PIR issues
Recently I went to a clinic and tried the available heart beat / blood pressure machines while in the waiting area. With these kinds of machines I always get nervous and my blood pressure and heartbeat spike. It’s not the first time I see this result. But I know that it’s also not reflective of my real body at rest.At the yearly “mandatory” health checks for … Continue reading Smart bracelet
Recently I upgraded to Hassio 0.70 (June 2018) Also installed: SONweb now (tasmota skin 2018.07) InfluxDB Grafana SONweb is fantastic. Nothing much to say here as DrZZs did a great job with his video. https://github.com/hassio-addons/addon-sonweb InfluxDB and Grafana are almost all explained on the component sections of the Hassio site. After following some tutorial info video from I could for the most part navigate and … Continue reading Hassio “the grafaning”
