For over a year I would replace the DHT22 (or its small brother the DHT11) outdoors after a few months if I cared to do so. It’s located in a cutout of a small Tupperware container strapped under my deck roof. No rain can get to it but the roof is no completely opaque and lets a fair amount of sun through. Although the temperature … Continue reading DHT22 is useless outdoors: replacement.
Sunshine… I thought that this movement false positive was only a cheap ip camera thing. Alas no… Come to think of it two sensors are starting to act up. Upstairs bedroom and outside. The bedroom sensor used to give me false positives due to a bad power supply. The outdoor one now seems to alert a lot as the shadow of the house grows and … Continue reading RCWL-0516: More outdoor issues with the PIR AM312
Recently although I’m not sure how I stumbled into it I started want a pressure washer. Previously I had noticed the dark almost black mildew or soot or something of the sort on the brick property divider (brick fence) and concrete flooring outside. With regular garden hose pressure I was able to remove some of the grime. Weeks later I splurged for a basic karcher … Continue reading Power washing the leaning house and area
One good thing about having the multisensors all over the place is I can monitor the temperature, humidity and lately the “real” feel. Today was a good day for my little sensor outside. This was taken at 10am on Monday the 16 or July 2018. This sensor as is obvious from the picture is of the outside of my entrance. With the sun beating down … Continue reading Hot hot hot ☀️🔥☀️🔥☀️

But today was 45-50% humidity.Even the wash area sensor registered 60.Something was wrong. It seemed to be recovering a little but i no longer felt it was accurate. So I swapped it for the DHT22 in … Continue reading DHT22 AM2302
Although it’s a different light. There has been an update to the way I have integrated the sonoff basic. It no longer hangs off the edge but is rather unnoticed and sitting inside despite the 40c operating limit. See post here Living in Japan fluorescent lighting in house is everywhere. Although I’ve gotten used to it now it was strange at first. Virtually all … Continue reading Sonoff *in fluorescent light housing.
Western style that is. It’s so hard to find. The spray on stuff here works well enough albeit expensive as a spray aerosol is about 500¥ and it doesn’t last as long as a stick or western deodorant or anti-perspirant. Actually March 22nd-April 2nd. I had seen some on sale at the Akihabara Don Quijote (Donki) a decade ago. Other times I just don’t remember … Continue reading Deodorant in Japan.
